Supervision

If you’re a trainee or newly qualified counsellor, you’ll know how important it is to find a supervisor who truly understands what those first few months (and years) of being a therapist involve.

From those anxious moments of feeling like you don't know anything, to the growing confidence that comes with experience, having a supportive supervisor to walk alongside you during this time can make a huge difference to how you feel about yourself and the different ways that you show up for your clients.

I believe supervision can give space to celebrate what's going well and to honestly reflect on what could be done differently.

At its best, supervision helps us grow as practitioners and creates more room for us to do our work with presence and compassion.

How I work

I see supervision as a collaborative, reflective, and creative process. I use a framework that pays attention to:

  • Your relationship with your client

  • Our supervisory relationship

  • The wider context in which you practise

  • The systems that impact us

  • The personal elements that influence our work

Supervision can be a place to identify blind spots, focus on strengths, develop new skills, discuss ethical dilemmas, share our struggles and even help with practicalities like setting up in private practice.

How Do I book?

Sessions are held online or in-person.

I offer a reduced fee of £40 per hour for trainees.

£80 per hour for qualified counsellors.

About Me

I am an Autistic, BACP-accredited integrative counsellor with 18 years of experience, working from a developmental model of therapy which explores how different models of counselling can be applied depending on the age or stage of development that the client's issues arise.

My background therefore draws on many counselling aproaches including Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic and Relational approaches, alongside creative methods such as guided imagery, art, and immersive technologies.

I specialise in supporting Neurodivergent and anxious young people and adults, as well as their families, and I am an LGBTQ+ ally committed to inclusive and affirming practice.

I have worked for Mind, The YMCA, Childline, The Terrence Higgins Trust and have run counselling services in schools, sixth form colleges and in private practice since 2012. I deliver training and talks around the World.

I set up Elemental Health in 2015 after running counselling services for young people in schools and sixth forms.

My interest in working with anxiety stemmed from my own lived experience. Having had an anxiety disorder for a number of years and then putting lots of systems in place to support myself, I found myself drawn to training in different approaches that made a difference to myself and my clients.

As more and more of my anxious clients were being diagnosed as neurodivergent, I began to realise that a lot of my lifetime struggles may have been more than anxiety alone and I went on to be diagnosed as Autistic.

As a result of this my team and I support neurodivergent young people and their families. I work with children, young people and adults with or without a diagnosis.

Alongside Elemental Health I am the founder of Augmenting Therapy CIC, a service that offers therapeutic group support for neurodivergent young people and their parents.
