A three hour workshop for anyone living with, working with or supporting a young person aged 8-18.

As more young people are experiencing mental ill health it is essential that we provide an environment where it is safe to talk about mental health and to understand how early intervention can help with recovery. This introductory course will help raise awareness of Youth Mental Health and covers:

  • Protective and risk factors

  • Stigma and discrimination

  • Mental Health Continuum

  • Protective and risk factors case studies

  • Self-harm and suicide

  • Signs and symptoms of mental ill health in young people

  • Stress Container

  • Hand Model of the Brain

  • Take Time Together

​By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Define mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Relate to young people's experiences

  • Recognise some signs and symptoms of mental distress

  • Start a supportive conversation about mental ill health
