Angela McMillan, MBACP (accred)
Founder & Director, Psychotherapist, Trainer , Supervisor
I set up Elemental Health after working as a counselling services manager, psychotherapist and trainer in educational establishments. I recognised that students and staff often feel concerned about how to talk about feelings and work with mental health issues and I began to deliver training that gave people the confidence to use these skills to support themselves and others.
In the last ten years I have also had a successful private therapy practice and have worked with diverse client groups at large charities including The Terrence Higgins Trust, Mind and the YMCA.
PSHE consultant lecturer, Trainer, Mindfulness Teacher.
I have 15 years experience working in large corporations both as a Business Manager and Human Resources Manager. During this time I was responsible for large teams of people and multi-million pound budgets and specialised in Training and Development, brand development and public speaking. Through the business I worked for, I qualified as a Business Coach, Psychometric Assessor and gained accreditation to administer Belbin Team Roles workshops.
I have received certification from The British Mindfulness Association to teach Mindfulness in Primary and Secondary Schools. I have also completed an 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course.
I run a private practice in Bristol and am passionate about living with the natural rhythm of nature. I create and deliver wellbeing workshops which provide spaces for meditation, advice on nutrition and gentle movement, and are delivered with an overall emphasis on seasonal living.
Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor Wales. Asist Trainer.
I have worked in support and wellbeing since 1991 and employed by Mind for 18 years in a variety of roles. My experience covers all aspects of mental health support and includes facilitating courses such as 'Anxiety Management', 'Stress Control' and 'Living Life to the Full'. I have created and delivered recovery and wellbeing workshops and seminars, provided one to one specialist and tenancy support and promoted mental health awareness and training to the wider community.
With over 10 years' experience of amateur dramatics and the performing arts, I am keen to use my skills to encourage team building and fun, engaging motivational workshops. I would like to encourage employers to take workplace mental health more seriously, tackle stigma and support workforces that face issues of stress and anxiety. I can provide individuals with the tools and skills they need to thrive in a team environment, focusing on their strengths and promoting balanced, resilient and supportive environments.
I am a qualified ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) facilitator, a Mental Health First Aid (Wales) instructor and an experienced Living Life to the Full and Stress Control practitioner.
Administration and social media consultant.
I am working with Elemental Health during my gap year, having finished A-Levels in July 2018.
Being fresh from school, I’m excited to be part of the team as the mental wellbeing of young people is very important to me and I have seen first hand how the correct support and awareness can really help.
I also work as an actor, with recent credits in BBC Casualty, and with the BAFTA nominated White Boat TV. I am experienced in using social media to grow an online presence in my acting work and hope to apply my knowledge of this in my time here.
