A two-day interactive workshop in Suicide First Aid.
ASIST teaches participants to recognise when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.
By the end of the course you will feel more willing, ready and able to intervene when someone at risk of suicide.
Studies show that the ASIST method helps reduce suicidal feelings.
The Course Covers:
The impact of society and personal attitudes towards suicide
Guidance and first aid to a person at risk of suicide
Creating an effective suicide safety plan
Implementing a suicide safety plan
Improving resources and increasing prevention in the community
Increasing suicide prevention including life-promotion and self-care
ASIST helps to build regional networks of trained caregivers who can support each other.
